FOR the second year in a row it rained on the Vietnam veterans parade.
But wet weather failed to dampen the occasion as more than 120 people attended the Anzac Eve service. The decision to shift the service from Flagstaff Point was made early, and for the second year the mess room at the Wollongong Army Depot and the 4th/3rd Battalion played host to the Vietnam Veterans Association Illawarra sub-branch's 25th Anzac Day service. The Anzac Eve address was given by sub-branch patron Major General Brian "Horrie" Howard.Honorary secretary of the sub-branch Pam Bowmaker said numbers attending the service continued to grow."It is disappointing to have rain again," Ms Bowmaker said.Ms Bowmaker said the sub-branch would commemorate their 25th anniversary in August this year.
